Jon and Bridget Stacey

Jon and Bridget Stacey
Bags
Jon began working in leather in the 1970's when he was a YHA warden at Elmscott, near Hartland. He had previously trained and worked as a tool maker.

Bridget qualified as an art teacher in 1971 and taught in nursery/infant schools for 25 years. They married in 1980 and moved to Yorkshire. On returning to Devon they decided to combine their skills and become full-time leather workers.

Belts
Wallets

They use traditional vegetable tanned hides (English and Irish wherever possible) and Jon makes all their embossing tools to their own designs.

All their work is sewn by hand. "We have made and mended everything from snake collars and rabbit leads to pump washers, kitchen handles and briefcases!"
